CHASER MEDIA INTRODUCES A NEW GENRE OF CHILDREN'S STORYTELLING:
"MY DAY AT THE ZOO",
PICTURE BOOK & ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK CD
WITH FUN READ-ALONG & SING-ALONG

MANCHESTER, VT – There are storybook tapes and there are sing-along CDs, but Chaser Media of Vermont has come up with a new way to captivate the inquisitive minds of children that will take them on a magical journey in sight and sound. "My Day at the Zoo" is the newest read-along & sing-along picture book/CD set that opens a new door for children's learning and imagination.

"We've taken the picture book to a whole new genre," said writer Kathryn Vaughan, of Chaser Media and author of the recently released "Little One...Good Night" picture book/CD set." "Children love to be clever little detectives and figure things out and these books speak to that." The text is simple enough for the youngest child to understand but the expressive music, masterful sound effects, and playful illustrations open up the sensory perceptions. "It really takes learning to another level." Says Vaughan.

The beautifully composed original soundtrack works with the playful illustrations to guide children, ages 1-6, along a multi-cultural exploration of animals, instruments and indigenous music. The simple text is woven into colorful, mini adventures as children visit each animal in their native habitats. See the black bear of North America, but hear the mystical sound of the wooden flute intertwined with drumming and chants of a Native American ceremony, listen for the sound of the eagle soaring overhead. Meet the toucan from South America as jungle noises play along with the bubbly sound of the steel pan drum, then wait for the eruption of an oncoming storm in the rain forest.

"These remarkably endearing books have enchanted our young readers and delighted their parents. They topped our bestseller list for 2004 and 2005!"

"My Day at the Zoo"'s original soundtrack was composed and arranged by Joseph Roda, president of the Palm Beach Orchestra. Vermont artist Donald Martin created illustrations in colored pencil – capturing the peek-a-boo fun of the children and zoo animals. Vaughan's success with "Little One...Good Night", the musical lullaby book/CD set about a Morgan foal, sparked her interest in creating more book/CDs for the young children's market.

"There are only a few books out there that speak to a child's sophisticated, inquisitive mind through musical learning," said Vaughan. "Little One...Good Night" has been called "a colorful joy for the eyes" and a "treasure of a book" by Equestrian Magazine. Borders, Saratoga NY store, recently invited Vaughan to attend their Educators Appreciation Weekend for teachers. "My Day at the Zoo" made its debut at the New England Booksellers Association Trade Show in Boston last month.

Northshire Bookstore's Children's Book Buyer Jessica Woods has said, "These remarkably endearing books have enchanted our young readers and delighted their parents. They topped our bestseller list for 2004 & 2005!" Equestrian Magazine called Little One...Good Night, "a colorful joy for the eyes" and "a treasure of a book."

Parents write in to say that these books "have heart and soul" and are a "nightly favorite in our house" and "an enjoyable part of our life". Also, "my child is having a difficult time reading and these books helps him to feel comfortable and want to read!" and my daughter loves the music too!" "These books are truly unique and wonderful!"

"Kids need to be exposed to so much more as far as cultures, languages, music and countries," said Vaughan, "these books open them up to a whole new world and a wonderful learning experience." "My Day at the Zoo" is a picture book/CD set with a high quality soundtrack CD that will retail for $19.95.
